Mechanics

Mysthea is a carefully crafted fusion of hand-management and area control game, and Maliath is a simulated opponent, allowing you to play Mysthea solo, or to add a third player to a two player game. Each turn, Maliath will act based on its Command Cards and its custom Destiny Cards, react to the changing value of Regions, and fight you for control of the islands and for harvesting the monsters’ powers.

Maliath can corrupt champions and change their behavior

Led by Maliath, the champions may have new abilities, and even the way they move changes: they are able to fly from one island to another even very far away.

And Maliath is clever in her choice of allies. Depending on which champion she decides to corrupt, the match against her may have a different course.

Maliath can improve its own actions

Instead of playing ongoing Command Cards, Maliath improves its own actions, as tracked by Upgrade tokens.

Maliath can start a battle against you

Instead of bidding in Battle, Maliath uses a simple Battle deck to make choices when facing you in battle.

Maliath can interfere with Attunements

Instead of scoring Attunement cards, Maliath uses Inclination markers to deny you the ability to attune yourself to certain islands.

Maliath can weaken monsters (to interfere with rewards)

When facing a monster she will try to interfere with the prestige you would get beating them. But this will also weaken the monsters!

Be prepared to take advantage of it without letting her have the bigger rewards!

Challenge Cards

The game experience can vary each time thanks to the Challenge Cards. The more cards you add, the tougher it becomes to overcome your enemy.
